70 - How a 1% improvement can lead to massive results
Aug 10, 2025
If you improved one thing in your life by just 1% each day, where would you be by the end of the year?
Here's the maths: a 1% improvement compounded daily for a full year makes you 37 times better at whatever you are working on. We have about five months left until the end of 2025 - so even starting now, that is roughly four times better by New Year’s Eve. Not bad for small daily wins!
This works because small changes compound, just like interest in a savings account. The gains may feel invisible at first, but over time they stack up into something powerful.
Let’s take a look at some examples…
Example 1 – Networking
If you improved your networking by just 1% a day - sending one thoughtful LinkedIn connection request, commenting on one post, or updating one line of your profile - you could make 150 new touchpoints before the year ends. That is 150 opportunities to learn, connect, or uncover your next career step and all under 2 minutes a day.
Example 2 – Wellbeing and Mindset
Want to feel calmer and more focused? Start with a tiny daily action: a five-minute walk, reframing one negative thought, or jotting down one thing you are grateful for. Over time, these micro-habits rewire your thinking and boost resilience without overhauling your whole routine.
Where to Start
Pick one area that matters most to you. My Career Clarity Compass is a great way to figure this out - it highlights where you are thriving and where you are struggling, so you can focus your 1% efforts where they will have the biggest impact.
By New Year’s Eve, you will be amazed at how different things feel - not because you made one huge leap, but because you took small, intentional steps every single day.
And if you want help getting started, join me for my final Career Reset Workshop of the year on 13th August. We will use the Career Clarity Compass together and create a simple, personalised plan you can follow - 1% at a time.
Always with love,
